High Energy Density micro-HET
Collaboration with Oregon State University team
This project aims to experimentally design and fabricate a high-energy density miniature Hall Effect Thruster (HET) capable of operating at a minimal power level of 20 W with an efficiency of 50% or higher. We have successfully built the first version, and more modifications are on the way. We are planning to patent our new design. The research involves a comprehensive analysis that integrates both computational and experimental approaches, focusing on new ways of controlling magnetic field configurations and thereby guiding electron trajectories for improved performance.
Diagnostics Tools Used: B probes, electrostatic probes
Computational Software Used: COMSOL
